Application of Selenium Nanoparticles on Sperm Quantity Indicators in Wistar Rat

Background: Antioxidant enzymes and selenium in semen plasma have vital effects on reducing lipid peroxidation of spermatozoid membrane elderly organisms by preventing the destructive reactive oxygen species. Therefore, use antioxidants is essential for normal testicular function spermatogenesis. Methods: In this experimental study, 44 male Wistar rats aged 2.5 months (young) Winstar 11 (old) were separated into 4 groups control, placebo, 1 (0.2 mg/kg BW), 2 (0.4 BW). Rats encountered weekly surgery after a week receiving different treatments. Resection their testes was used histological studies. Results: The number spermatocytes, spermatid, spermatozoa young old increased during study period. rats, highest these cells remarked third fourth weeks experiment using nanoparticles (ranged from 165.3 to 285.3 × 106). Conclusions: This demonstrated that could improve cells, especially with growing decreasing quality, can be due parameters low health risk.
